		Ladybird is a symbol of motherhood, fertility and the Earth. I have learned her true name to be Freyja, a supreme mother goddess of Norse mythology. Freyja in her elegant beauty rules the processes of birth — life — death — and rebirth in nature. Her symbol is the delicate ladybird. Freyja is referred to as the “Bride of Vanir”. The Vanir are the gods and goddesses of the farmers, craftsmen and producers of all kinds. She is the embodiment of an old world relationship with the fertile earth.
